I am happy to report that the Leap Year Day morning coffee at Level Best Café was well attended and I am sorry that I couldn’t be there. However, the afternoon tea at Tymperleys was an outing I enjoyed. There were quite a few of us and we had a good time, even though the weather was not as nice as it could have been.
The tour of the Guildhall Harwich was excellent and the Pearls also shared some time for lunch and we even got to see the local lifeboats at the RNLI station/museum.
As most of you know, I signed up to be Queen of the Boudicca Babes for a 2-year period, and I have to inform you that I will be standing down on 28th March, at our ‘Annual Gathering’ (due to be held at Blue Garden Cafe, Clacton 11.15am). Tara has agreed to take over as Queen and we will be working together for a short while as she learns the procedures etc needed for her to fully carry out her duties. I am also, sadly announcing that Jane Rees has decided to resign from the QC. She will still be a member of the Babes, but will be able to enjoy the outings etc without any of the QC responsibilities. I am sure you will join me in wishing her a speedy recovery from her fall and thank her for her dedicated service to the Boudicca Babes for the last 10 years.
PLEASE NOTE THAT YOUR MEMBERSHIP WILL BE UP FOR RENEWAL BY 7TH APRIL. PLEASE TRANSFER £10 TO THE BANK (sort code 230580 Acc 22914898) OR SEND A CHEQUE TO Sue Cowper by that date.
Please look out for changes in the QC in the next newsletter, and I am sure that the chapter will still be a great one to belong to. Any suggestions you have for places of interest to go to will still be welcome and don’t forget this is a group for us all, so we need input and ideas from ALL.
May I AGAIN repeat, as it is so important – that if you book to go on an outing in future, please ensure that you pay upon booking. It is very embarrassing when the event comes up and some who book cancel and the money is not there to reimburse the host for monies spent out. We need to ensure we have a paper trail for any monies going through the bank account. Therefore I, sadly, have to insist that you either send a cheque or pay by bank transfer (please make sure you put the event down as the reference on all payments).
